Verizon is better than T-Mobile
Why do I say that? Because when I moved here to Washington State, I started my own business and then I realized I needed a second line and I had been with Verizon for decades.
When I saw that T-Mobile was giving away a free line if you got two lines you can get the third one free so I needed a business line so I said why not, let’s do that since T-Mobile is headquartered here in Washington State
And I’m also a Costco member and they give you gift cards if you switch from Verizon to T-Mobile so another benefit. About $1100 in gift cards to move cell phone carrier to T-Mobile, a huge bonus.
Then it happened, I decided to go down to Portland to look at a home because of the housing market in the Snoqualmie Valley, Washington State area. It’s really expensive. As a sidenote the housing cost here as an example is you can get a fixer-upper in Fall City for $1 million. That not what I’m going for.
Back to the story, I went down to Portland to look at a house and when I got down there, I completely lost cell service. I’m not just saying poor service. I’m saying no service. My service dropped so bad, I couldn’t even use it.
This was on a Saturday. Sunday and I was unable to get a hold of T-Mobile to find out why my service was virtually completely down. The only thing that really allowed me to use my phone was the hotel Wi-Fi, but I was appalled that I had no service. I had just switched and I drove down to Portland. It’s only three hours away and I had no service with T-Mobile zero.
I even tried to get a hold of the T-Mobile through the app and over the phone, but could not get a hold of anyone. It’s like I lost all service. What if I really needed my phone? I did need my phone actually since I was out looking for a house, but my service completely dropped.
I decided to go back to Verizon. Verizon has always been good for me. The service has been good the cell service. It’s fair to say that many corporate companies have customer service issues. It’s not always the greatest. It comes down to what you need. Good service for the product you’re buying, “cell service” or do you want good customer service? I think we want both but at the end of the day the product should function as designed.
In fact, when I was working to move my one of my lines from T-Mobile to Verizon, I had a difficult time even finding the transfer pin on T-Mobile’s website or even in the App. I did use the chat finally but even the chat could not give me a transfer pin, they required me call. I did call and then I got put on hold or they said they had too many people in front of me so they eventually called me, but even the person that called me said they could not give me a transfer pin. They had the transfer me again.
I had some minor challenges moving my line to Verizon since I’m a new customer. I did all the ID things but then the sites are sort of crashed. I’m not so sure why that happened but I just wanted to transfer one line. I have three so it wasn’t a big deal at the time. Okay, I’ll do this tomorrow.
The next day I went ahead and started it and it went much smoother and they needed that transfer pin, which admittedly it felt like canceling a credit card with T-Mobile. They did not want to give me a transfer pin or they made it difficult for me to get a transfer pin. You know like when you call a credit card company and you want to cancel the credit card. They typically transfer you three or four times because they want to keep your business.
When it comes down to is the product, Verizon is a better product. It always has been. Keep your account on auto pay. Yes, they charge more for their service, but it is what it is. I would much rather pay more for a good service than pay less and not have service. The service refers to when you use your cell phone. If you use your cell phone on a regular basis and you want to work properly. You want the signal to work properly you’re probably want to go with a good company. Sure, you can save on the service, but it might not always work for you.
Finally, in my professional IT tech and consumer opinion, Verizon is better than T-Mobile hands-down I won’t ever go back to T-Mobile. Why change after something has been working for decades. I know my bars went up so I’m going to eventually move everything to Verizon.
Here is the bonus! After being with Verizon for about a month now, my battery life is much better. Yes, being on Verizon causes my phone to “look” for towers less. That means that my phone doesn’t work as hard so it doesn’t use as much battery!
